Dark panel or no response to Power
Panel on, but the cycle will not begin
Drum turns, but there is no heat
Cycle runs, but clothes stay damp
The dryer stops unexpectedly
Squeaking, grinding, rattling or thumping
The drum is not turning
Stop use and check the safety guidance
Use this entry when the panel is dark and the dryer does not respond to Power. That is different from a dryer with working controls that will not start a cycle. Tell us whether power was lost suddenly or after an interruption; supply and appliance faults require different checks.
The panel lights up, but pressing Start does not begin the cycle. Check that the door is fully closed and follow the Child Lock instructions for your model. If it still will not start, we can assess the door sensing, start controls and drive system. Do not bypass the door switch.
The controls respond or the cycle appears to run, but the drum stays still. Note whether you hear a hum or another unusual sound. The belt, motor and related drive components need inspection before a failed part can be identified.
Belt and drive-system repairLoad obstruction or motor/drive issue; diagnosis required
An unexpected stop during a running cycle needs a closer description: does the panel lose power, or does it stay on? Record the selected cycle and any message. Repeated power loss is different from a cycle that ends early while the controls remain available.
When a Sensor Dry cycle ends early but the panel still works, load size or moisture-sensor contact may be involved. Note whether clothes are still damp and which cycle was selected. This is not the same as the dryer losing power; persistent symptoms need a model-specific assessment.
Wrinkle Prevent can tumble the drum intermittently after drying on equipped models. That is different from a dryer that keeps running when you try to turn it off. Tell us what the display shows and whether the drum responds to the normal controls.
Supply/circuit or internal electrical fault; do not repeatedly reset
A Samsung dryer not heating needs a different assessment from one that produces warmth but leaves clothes damp. Tell us whether it is electric or gas, which cycle is selected and whether the drum turns. Heating-system diagnosis comes before any recommendation to replace a part.
Tell us which part was fitted and whether the symptoms changed. The next step is to assess the remaining fault and check compatibility with your Samsung dryer model, rather than replace another part without testing.
Heating element repair assessmentThe dryer runs, but the load remains damp. Note whether there is warmth in the drum, whether the cycle ends early and how wet the clothes were at the start. Load, settings, lint buildup, airflow and moisture sensing can affect drying; no heat is a separate symptom.
Clothes eventually dry, but a load takes longer than expected or needs another cycle. Note the load size and selected settings, including Eco Dry where fitted. Airflow, lint buildup and incoming moisture can affect drying time, so a long cycle alone does not confirm heater failure.
Mixed fabrics, tangled loads or moisture sensing
Airflow restriction, ambient conditions or heating control
Cycle selection, airflow or heating-control condition
Load/contact sensing or sensor/control problem
Tell us whether the displayed time stays at one minute, pauses elsewhere or changes during the cycle. Include the cycle name and whether clothes are dry. Sensor-controlled timing can behave differently from a timed cycle; persistent delays need to be assessed for the exact model.
Adaptive cycle timing can be normal; compare with model manual
Gas models only; gas supply/ignition system
Gas models only; service diagnosis needed
Describe the sound and when it occurs: squeaking, rattling, grinding and thumping are different clues. Check the sound-specific entries below rather than assuming that every noise means a broken belt or motor. A recording made from a safe distance can help you explain the problem.
Loose objects, panels or rotating components
Foreign objects or mechanical/electrical condition; stop if sparks or burning smell
A repeated squeak as the drum turns needs to be distinguished from loose objects rattling in a load. Note whether it begins immediately or after the dryer warms up. Persistent squeaking calls for inspection of the rotating supports and drive components, not a part diagnosis by sound alone.
Roller and idler pulley assessmentDrum/support/foreign-object interference
Load, leveling or rotating support
Relays, controls or rotating parts; some sounds are normal
Leveling, load distribution or mechanical supports
Supply, panel or control communication
Alert, door state, selected option or fault message
Record exact code and model; consult the appropriate code family
Delayed/remote start, wrinkle protection or control issue
Door-interlock fault; stop use and arrange service
Load interference, latch, hinge or seal
Latch, hinge or mechanical obstruction
Only on models equipped with a drum lamp
Only Wi-Fi-equipped models
Reminder, filter detection or airflow condition; exact display varies
Vented models only
Vented models only; duct routing, ambient temperature and airflow
Only display-equipped vented models with that warning
Identify the feature-specific water source; a vented non-steam dryer normally has no supply water
Condensation, steam supply or adjacent appliance water; model dependent
Only documented steam-equipped model
Only model with water-fed steam feature; hose/valve/connection
Active smoke or fire is an emergency. Leave the area and call 911 from a safe location; do not continue using the dryer or attempt another test cycle. Arrange appliance inspection only after the immediate danger has been addressed.
Stop using the dryer if you notice an unexplained burning smell or overheating. Do not keep running test cycles. If there is active smoke or fire, leave the area and call 911 from a safe location. Arrange appliance service only when the immediate danger has been addressed.
Stop use; electrical fault requires qualified assessment
Stop use; grounding/supply/appliance fault requires qualified assessment
Damp load, residue or water system where present
Laundry/residue/foreign material; investigate source
Leave the area immediately and call your gas utility or 911 from a safe location. Do not operate the dryer, use electrical switches or unplug equipment in the affected area. Do not return until the gas utility or emergency responders say it is safe. This is not a routine online booking issue.
Filter installation, load, fabric shedding or airflow
Foreign object, drum/seal damage or inappropriate cycle
Drum/seal residue or material contact; diagnosis needed
Stop use if overheating; cycle, airflow or heating control
Fabric care label, heat setting and cycle
Load size, cycle and unloading timing
Overdrying, fabrics and selected cycle

The work below may be recommended after diagnosis. We review the model, condition and part availability before confirming a repair; a symptom or error code alone is not a reason to replace a component.
On Samsung dryer models that use an electric heating element, we assess the heating fault before recommending replacement. A failed element must be confirmed and the replacement matched to the full model number.
Samsung dryer belt replacement starts with an inspection of the drum-drive mechanism. We check whether the belt has failed and whether related components also need attention before recommending the work.
Drum rollers and the idler pulley are assessed as part of the rotating assembly. The repair recommendation identifies the worn or damaged component and the compatible replacement, rather than treating every noise as the same fault.
Motor, sensor and control faults need testing before a component is replaced. Share any display message and the exact behavior so we can review the fault and confirm the appropriate repair for your model.
Door alignment, latch, drum and seal problems are evaluated individually. We check the affected assembly and discuss the repair options, including whether suitable replacement parts are available for your Samsung dryer.
Need a repair that is not listed? Send the full model number, a description of the issue and any previous repair details. We will review the request and confirm whether our team can help with the required work.
Tell us what your dryer is doing so we can review the right repair, not just a part name.
